Crying = Melt Down? I don't think so.

I’ve held this in long enough…  Have you noticed how quickly tissues come out at the slightest hint of a tear?  Tears, sadness, are signs of weakness in our culture.  They’re to be dabbed away before anyone sees.  That’s ridiculous!  Isn’t the lack of affect what’s really disturbing?

When you express yourself in the moment you stay connected with your body.  That is really, really important.  Because of your sensitive nature your kinesthetic experiences are one key to staying congruent, mind, body, and soul.  So, stop apologizing and get connected.  And, don’t allow anyone to make you feel less than, for doing it.

Some time ago, I left an organization I’d helped build.  The leadership was becoming more autocratic and much less grass roots.  I was torn up about the change.  And, in more than one meeting shed tears openly.  The upshot of my experience,  I was pronounced unstable due to melt down.

It’s all good.  I’m much more in alignment with my mission in the world.  I do, at times, wish I didn’t need to get hit in the head to get something and move on.  But then, where would I get the stories I share with you.

What’s your experience?  What was the impact?  Your stories are welcome.

Can a Metaphor Change your Reality?

Man, are metaphors cool.  If you want something to happen, come up with a metaphor for it and plug that into your brain!  I’m serious.  I could write a whole article about this.  Actually, I think I will.  I’ll put a link to it at the bottom of this post.  Check back in a day or two.

In the mean time, think of something you want.  Create a metaphor to represent it.  See what happens.  And, tell us about it.  We’d love to hear from you.
