New Years Eve – A few hours left to 2009
I’m going to save the last count, “One” for you. I wish that we could do this together on a conference line. But, aside from the logistics, my voice sounds like Minnie Mouse sucking helium. Besides, when things show up differently than we imagined, it’s a great opportunity to try something new. So here’s your step for today. Doing it on your own with no distractions just might be a better.
With this step, you’re going to lock in your resolve with a kind of ceremony. Here it is:
- With your 2 lists in hand (one with yes statements and one with no statements) go to a room somewhere in your house that you can, with complete certainty, not return to until after midnight tonight. If you’ll be out tonight and won’t come home before midnight, then about 5-10 minutes before you walk out your door, do the next step.
- Next step – Say, out loud, with your complete conviction, each of the three statements on your yes list. After each statement, say, “yes”, just as clearly and confidently as you initially made each statement.
- Then, do the same thing with your no list. Say the statement and say, “No”. And say it with conviction. You own these choices.
- Now with full and complete awareness and the knowledge in your heart of hearts, that you can and will keep these commitments, walk through the door of this room (or your house). And step in to your new choices.
- Finally, as you count, “ONE” tonight, think of this ceremony you’ve just completed.
Because of the way you mind works, the last two steps anchor your commitments. And, whenever you are faced with a decision that involves this resolution you’ve made, you’ll find it much easier to do what will be in alignment with your values. Over time, any question arising on this issue will become a no-brainer.
Congratulations, once again, on giving yourself such a wonderful gift. You now, have everything you need to succeed in getting a killer start to 2009. Except maybe a little champagne or sparkling cider. I’ll be lifting my glass in a toast to you at midnight mountain time. To your success!
So glad to have you with us. Please, don’t hesitate to share your thoughts on our ADHDventure these past 10 days. Even better I’d love to know what impact it has on you as you move ahead. Bookmark this page so you can easily return here with your thoughts.

New Year Resolutions- Counting down 2 days to a killer start in 2009
Greetings all, I’m a bit under the weather. So, I’ll make this short and sweet.
Say it….. “TWO” Woo HOOO!
Take 30 minutes of time today, more if you’ve got it. Don’t cut yourself short with less that 20, unless well you can do this work in less. With that precious time of yours, look over what you wrote down that you want to say yes to in 2009. And, then look over the three things you are willing to say no to to make what you want happen.
What do you think?? Have you chosen well? Will saying no to those three things support you in your desire? Yes?? Great. No? No problem. You have a huge list to pick from. Pick three, that, at a minimum, will send you on your way. And, either way, come up with a plan to revisit your choices; see how you’re doing.
I want you to succeed. So, write your list here _____. (Know that anything you write here will be kept strictly confidential.)
Tomorrow, we will reach the final count. I had hoped to do this part live. Unfortunately, whatever bug has me down, has snatched my voice away as well. No worries. I’ll have the steps to take clearly written. I’m very excited. This last piece, as long as you’ve done the rest of the work, will bring everything together.
Til Tomorrow – I wish you well.
And, please – take care of your health!

New Years Resolutions- Counting down 3 days to a killer start in 2009
Scroll down a ways if you’re wondering what this is all about. We began about 6 or 7 days ago. (Don’t make me count them.)
Okay, you did the hard part yesterday. (And, if you didn’t, scroll down and see what you need to do. You will make this much easier on yourself.)
And, we are down to, say it with me. . . “THREE!”
Damn, we are so close. (Don’t think I’m not doing this myself.)
This is it. Look over your list from yesterday. What, on that list would you be willing to say no to? Chose at least three things from that list you know you can say no to. Definitely, if you see your way to doing more than that, great. And, for our purposes, pick three. Then – you know the drill. Write ‘em down! Here: _____. (Know that anything you write here will be kept strictly confidential.)

New Year Resolutions – Counting down 4 days to a killer start in 2009
I’m gonna take you through this next step pretty quick and dirty. Probably because no matter how I write it, this step is best just done. Trust me.
And, we’re at “FOUR”.
This next step is designed to ensure that you know what your choices are. And, it is intended to prepare you to clearly, fully and unwaveringly make the commitment necessary to achieve the goal you have chosen. So, without monkeying around, because you’ll only make this painful longer, make the biggest list you can of absolutely anything possible that by simply saying no to, you might be moving closer towards your goal. Bottom line? Write down everything but the kitchen sink.
I’m going to add one more thing. Do this step. And, by do it, I mean come up with the possibilities and write every single one down. Seriously. Now, and not for the first time, I’m going to contradict myself. Just because you write something down here (or, not here for that matter) doesn’t mean you’re going to do it. And, listen closely, just because you write something down here, you do not have to do it. Here’s the point, the longer your list, the more choices you’ll have. And, if you’ll feel less pressure by writing this list and not submitting it, fine. And, writing things down, writing anything that has to do with the goal you want to make, adds just one more of your senses to the work. And, the more senses involved the better the learning, the greater chance for success. Finally, why write and hit submit? The impact of knowing someone cares and will read what you’ve written is a part of what bumps that success up a notch higher.
With all that in mind, and of course no pressure, there’s a spot to write and know that I’m reading your stuff and I do care. I want you to succeed. So, write your list here _____. (Know that anything you write here will be kept strictly confidential.)

New Year Resolutions- Counting down 5 days to a killer start in 2009
Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening – and to some of you Good Night
It’s 9:00AM here at the bottom of the Rocky Mountains, New Mexico. More importantly we are nearing the end of our countdown to 2009. (Go to the beginning of our Countdown from day #10, day #9, day #8, day #7 and to day #6).
At this point, the steps you’ve taken should have you completely clear about the resolution you’ve chosen to take on. And, I expect you’ve viewed it from multiple perspectives. Let’s move on then.
Counting down together, we are at, “FIVE”.
I’ll make this very simple. Review the list you made during your brainstorming session yesterday. Today, using only three statements, you’re going to state exactly what you’ve chosen to go after in 2009. It’s possible that three of the statements you came up with yesterday already say it all. Or, you may want to make a compilation to include all of the essence of what you are embracing to carry you to success. Begin each statement with the phrase, “I am saying yes to. . . ”
Remember the benefit of putting your goals in writing and sharing them as well, I have this place reserved especially for you. I want you to write them down here _____. (Know that anything you write here will be kept strictly confidential.)
Tomorrow we will count down the fourth day to 2009. And, I have arranged to do a live coaching call to share the process with you. I’ll spell out the activity for this day like I’ve been doing. Then I’ll coach someone through #4 live on line. If you’d like to be in the hot seat for this live coaching, send your request via email to Personal and Life Coach, Cathy Jantzen. The call will be at 1.00PM EST.

New Year Resolution- Counting down 6 days to a killer start in 2009
Here we are, day six in the countdown. This next step is easy.
Having completed the activities through yesterday, you’ve pretty much done all the work. You’re clear on your goal, you’re clear about the values your goal is based on.
Let’s count down to, “SIX”.
In the space below you’ll create a list of all the things you’ll be saying yes to by as you successfully achieve your goal. You may not know what they all are now. And, at this time, list what you understand you are saying yes to. Begin each declaration with:
I am saying yes to ____________________.
Let me give you an example.
Again, I have permission to use this young mother’s work to demonstrate.
Her goal, her resolution is to loose weight.
She has spelled out many of the values her goal is based on.
From what she has shared, here is a partial list of what I believe she is saying yes to:
- Being respectful of the body that God has blessed me with.
- Teaching my kids healthy eating/food habits and having good body image.
- Finally overcoming this weight issue and achieving other goals.
- Feeling and looking great.
Remember the benefit of putting your goals in writing and sharing them as well, I have this place reserved especially for you. I want you to write them down here _____. (Know that anything you write here will be kept strictly confidential.)

New Year Resolution- Counting down 7 days to a killer start in 2009
Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas to all my Christmas celebrating friends!
I want to congratulate you for reaching this day in the Count Down to 2009. Yesterday your task was one of consideration. It was to ask yourselves to explore what is truly important to you. The key to creating successful changes in your life is to identify the meaning the change has for you. Several of you may have Loose X Amount of Weight this year as the resolution you’ve chosen to make during this Count Down to Success in 2009. And, you have probably made this resolution before. The X may have varied. And, you may have had some success. And, you probably struggled. Am I right?
Let me share the mindset that I’m asking you to dig down deep for. I was given permission to share this example with you from another participant. This young woman began with the resolution to loose weight in 2009. She bravely contacted me and we explored the meaning, what was really important to her about loosing the weight. Here’s what she shared.
- I want to be respectful of the body that God has blessed me with.
- I want to teach my kids healthy eating/food habits and having good body image.
- I want to finally overcome this weight issue and move unto achieving other goals.
- I want to feel and look great.
Can you see how cutting to the core, getting to the meaning of your goal may provide a different kind of motivation than simply stating the means to get there? (The means being to loose the weight.)
As you go through your day today, consider how your family figures in to the resolution you came to on day 8. I am, correctly I think, assuming family figures in highly to your core value system. And, consider this. Nearly anything you choose to challenge yourself to, stems from your core value system. I don’t believe it a stretch that you could very likely see any goal you set will have roots in most if not all of your core values.
And let’s count this down together, “SEVEN”.
Today explore the resolution you’ve chosen for 2009 in relation to your values around family. Once you’ve done your reflecting, answer this question. How does your resolutions for 2009 relate to your core value of family? Remembering the benefit of putting your goals in writing and sharing them as well, I have this place reserved especially for you. I want you to write them down here _____. (Know that anything you write here will be kept strictly confidential.)

New Year Resolutions- Counting down 8 days to a killer start in 2009
Here we are on the 8th day to 2009.
Yesterday you came up with the New Years Resolution that will have the greatest impact on your life. And, what we’re creating together is an approach to your success in that. This is huge. Good for you. And, congratulations to you for taking the time now to go through these steps. It shows the commitment you have to yourself and those you love. (If you haven’t been counting down from 10, no worries. You can start at the beginning and get caught up by clicking here).
I’ve got two activities for you today. They’re listed below. The first one you’ll need to take some time to consider. And, then, just like you have the past two days and for the same reasons, write your answers down. The second is to read and then test out right now. And, then practice it at least through the end of the year. Now is an especially great time to practice. It’s a great exercise to use whenever you get revved up. And, it’s especially useful when things around you are revved up.
And, we’re at “EIGHT.”
1) Think about this choice you’re making.
- Chances are the change you’ve chosen when accomplished will save you some resources. How will this choice give you the opportunity to use them more successfully. Or, how will it give you more?
- What meaning is there for you. What core value of yours is this choice an expression of. What will it mean to you when you achieve this goal. What will your life be like if you haven’t?
2) Make sure that whatever it is you do, that you are in choice.
- When you begin to feel like an activity has taken you over, when you’ve become mindless about what your doing. Stop. Take a breath. Practice this right now. Slooooowwly breath in. Hold it just for a moment. Then, like your were blowing through a straw, exhale even slower through your mouth. Then,
- Ask yourself the following question, “Is what I’m moving toward or away from you goals.”

New Year Resolutions- Counting down 9 days to a killer start in 2009
Welcome to our countdown to 2009 already in progress. If you’ve just stepped in you’ll find all you need to catch up with us right here.
Congratulations all of you who are back here with me today. You’ve just taken the first step to bounding into 2009 prepared for success. Today we’ve got 9 days before 2009. Further down you’ll see what you’ll be up to today. And, to move you along I have another gift for you.
As we walk through the steps of this countdown you may feel challenged. Maybe you’re not sure what I’m asking you to do. Maybe you know what I’m asking of you, but you aren’t sure how to do it. So, I hope you won’t object to receiving an opportunity that will be the first time I’ve offered it on this scale. Each day as we go along, I will make myself available to you to coach you on the day’s step. On to the count.
And, we’re at, “NINE”.
- Look at the resolutions you’ve written down. Take some time to consider them.
- What one stands out for you? What one of these possibilities would give you the greatest joy to accomplish? What one will make the greatest difference in your life?
- Take the time you need to answer this question.
- When you’ve chosen the resolution you’d like to take on, I want you to write them down here _____. (Know that anything you write here will be kept strictly confidential.)
If you’re not ready right now to input your resolution, bookmark this spot, and set a reminder for yourself to come back and write it down.
Remember, written goals have a much greater success rate. And, sharing that goal bumps success rates even more. Have fun, and we’ll see you tomorrow!

New Year Resolutions- Counting down 10 days to a killer start in 2009
Man, so many offers in my email and so much to do for the holidays. Time to pick and choose. If your email is anything like mine, you don’t need another offer. And, this isn’t another offer. It’s a gift.
Over the next 10 days, I’ll be doing a countdown to 2009. Do this count down with me, and at the end of those 10 days you’ll have created a New Year’s resolution you’ll be proud of and you’ll be ready to succeed with. Each day I’ll take you through, step by step, the same process I use to meet and keep my own New Years resolutions. It’s how I succeeded in loosing 50 lbs in one year. And, it’s how today, 8 years later, and nearly all the way through the holidays my success continues!
You can use this process any New Years resolution you‘d like to tackle. So, if you’re ready to count it down with me, let’s go!
And, we’re at, “TEN”.
- Write out the top 5 New Years resolutions you’d like to make and succeed with in 2009 (No worries if you have less than 5). If you have more than 5, see if you can narrow your list down. Hint: You’ll be doing that anyway.
- Because written goals have a higher success rate, you absolutely need to write them down. Then you need to share them with at least one other person. Ask Michael Phelps. That was part of his own strategy. I’ve made it real easy. I want you to write them down here _____. (Know that anything you write here will be kept strictly confidential.)
Do it now. Tomorrow will count down to “NINE”. Remember we are counting down the 10 days to a killer start in 2009. Get there raring to go.
